Tips for Windows 7 Users

After doing some research in my laptop with Windows 7 Genuine, I found some very interesting and useful tips that can help many of us. Especially battery running time in laptop is very important and also the old software's which got locked up.

1.Projector View

To switch your display from one monitor to another or a projector - just press Win+P or run DisplaySwitch.exe and choose your preferred display.

2.Battery Report

Windows7 gives very useful information to all laptop users by providing the power efficiency report for your current power settings.

Open a command prompt as an administrator by typing "cmd" in Start Search and when the cmd icon appears, right-click it on the top and choose Run as administrator.

Then at the command line, type "powercfg -energy" and hit Return/Enter. Now Windows 7 will scan your system looking for ways to improve power efficiency and publishes the results in an HTML file, usually in the System32 folder (follow the path to find your report).

3.Get back the locked-up applications

Windows 7 provides a way to get your program working again without any loss of data and also with this provides a explanation for this problem.

To do this, click Start>type RESMON and click the RESMON.EXE link to launch the Resource Monitor.

You can find your frozen process in the CPU panel (Highlighted in red actually), then right-click it and select Analyze Wait Chain.

Click the End process at last (If two process, end only the lowest listed process)

4.All Kind of Themes

When you first installed Windows 7, the interactive setup asked for your language, time and currency and then based on your response, it installed set of wallpapers and the corresponding themes based on your location.

For example, if you choose, India (Asia) for your time and currency format, then the available themes and backgrounds will include an Indian section and its various wallpapers.

There is a simple way exists to get all themes used for England, South Africa...etc.

Open Run box > type C:WindowsGlobalizationMCT and press Enter (Assumed your OS is installed in C If not, use the drive name where you installed your OS).

Now, Windows Explorer will show you the list of sub-folders under C:WindowsGlobalizationMCT viz. MCT-AU, MCT-CA, MCT-GB, MCT-US and MCT-ZA.

Type > *.theme in search bar located in that window on extreme right top. After this you would get all the themes which are hidden initially

5.Command Prompt for a folder

Press "Shift" when right-clicking on a folder to get that option in the context menu (also works in the desktop)

6.List all "Send-To" Options

Press "Shift" and right-click to see all the options in "send-to" menu.
